The “Heat is On” as summertime is now upon us! With this in mind, QP Energy wants to offer you a few basic tips to remain safe and keep the job going…

  1. Prevent Heat Stress:
  • Drink water every 15 minutes (even if you’re not thirsty)
  • Wear ​a hat and light-colored, loose-fitting clothing
  • Take regular breaks in shade and rest
  • Recognize the signs/symptoms of heat illness and use a buddy system
  • Know what the emergency plan is for heat-related illness
  1. Stay Healthy on the Job:
  • Stick to a consistent sleep schedule
  • Be cognizant of what you eat and drink
  • Squeeze in breaks and exercise
  • Stay away from sick coworkers
  • Manage stress efficiently
  • Get some vitamin D
  • Take precautions during flu season
  1. Practice Good Hygiene:
  • Be aware of the workplace hygiene policy, and encourage employees to practice good hygiene
  • Help identify areas of concern
  • Provide sanitary bathrooms along with basic sanitary items such as wipes, sanitizer and tissues.
