Why Pipelines?

Why Pipelines?

QP would like to answer that question by pointing out a few amazing facts:

* Pipelines provide long-distance transportation of a liquid or gas between areas of production and consumption. Currently there are approximately 2,175,000 miles of working pipeline, with another 118,623 miles of pipeline planned or under construction. Just over 65% of these pipelines are located in the US!
* Pipelines are proving to be the safest, most reliable and most economical choice when it comes to transporting crude oil, petroleum products, and natural gas. Traditional methods of transportation, especially over long distances are sometimes poor choices due to the potentially negative impact on the environment.
* Pipelines provide vital connections by moving raw materials from remote areas of production to refineries and chemical plants, and then by moving the finished products on to gasoline terminals, natural gas power plants, and other end users.
* Pipelines are not limited to the gas & oil industry but also serve to transport water for drinking and irrigation, sewage, hazardous and volatile liquids (HVLs), and even hot water or steam over shorter distances.

Pipelines in all their capacities are essential in our highly industrialized society serving a wide variety of businesses and consumers. QP is here to serve the pipeline industry- let us know how we can help you!
